One of my two favourite things in life is tea (the other woodcarving). I also drink espresso from time to time, but tea is what keeps me sane, coffee just allows me to enjoy the full cafe experience when out and about.

Specifically I drink a lot of loose Chinese tea: green, white, red, black, oolong or puerh, you name it and I probably drink it. It is a world apart from everyday teabag tea, which is not to be scoffed at but very basic, sometimes we need a bit of basic too though. Why is it different? Well, the actual answer would be very complicated to go into here, but why do I feel so good during and after drinking it? These are questions to meditate over with cup in hand.

These bamboo tea scoops are what I use to remove loose leaf tea from their airtight packets, in a bid to avoid getting tiny but significant amounts of moisture on the precious dry leaf. Traditionally a tea scoop is used in the Chinese tea ceremony Gong fu cha.
